LA BAMBA MEXICAN RESTAURANT
A fun place to dine, with great food at excellent prices.

Sometimes on weekends, you may have to wait about 45 minutes. But it is worth the wait. I have been going to La Bamba for several years and the food is always consistent in its quality and freshness.

Upon entering, you hear the festive music of Mexico. The brightly colored walls are decorated with Mexican murals, and traditional Mexican articles of clothing and even a guitar, which all work to put you in a relaxed frame of mind.

Moments after being seated, you are treated to their warm tortilla chips, which can also be purchased to take home. In the restaurant, you have a choice of mild or spice home-made salsa. I always find the service to be very good, quick, and courteous.

I ordered their Pollo a la Plancha ($12.95), a marinated grilled chicken breast topped with lots of sauteed onions. A generous portion of white rice and black beans are also included. The sweet plantains are soft and absolutely fantastic. Some other restaurants seem to either overcook or undercook their plantains. La Bamba always gets it right. The chicken is marinated with what tastes like lime and other spices I can't put my finger on. But the results are splendid. I tried to duplicate their grilled chicken at home and couldn't. Leave the cooking up to La Bamba.

For those with a taste for burritos, I highly recommend La Bamba. Their burritos are generously stuffed with a good quality shredded chicken or beef smothered in gooey cheese and wonderfully seasoned. Also on the plate is ample refried beans and rice.

La Bamba has an extremely successful small chain of restaurants for several years for a very good reason: their food is always good, as are the prices and service. I recommend this wonderfully relaxing restaurant to every one.
