Art and Design Cafe: A Totally Unique Place
Where Food Meets Art
By Philip Boccaccino
Art and Design Café, with its art covered walls and whimsical sculptures offers a magical almost Alice in Wonderland like setting in which to enjoy some very fine dining.
I recently had the opportunity to sample their culinary skills at this very special cafe located just east of Federal Highway on Commercial Blvd.
Vincent Byrnes and Ginger Coopersmith, two interior design professionals with over 12 years experience have transformed this space into a destination with a one of a kind concept. The art and sculptures are for sale, along with a full menu, including dishes that are just as creative as the décor.
We dined on their New Zealand lamb chops with mint jelly, a pineapple chicken dish and baked brie with mango and cherry chutney. The signature side dishes range from grilled asparagus to scalloped potatoes and sautéed mushroom caps with a twist. A full line of wine and beer are served here that will accommodate any diners wishes. Desserts are a must do. Try one of their new exotic desserts Baked Alaska, chocolate cake with vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream that is topped with toasted meringue. There are also a variety of flavored cheesecakes.
Check out their weekly specials and entertaining lineup of monthly events; as you'll easily want to stay for a while. The service is excellent and the chef has a flair for infusing a Moroccan feeling into some of the dishes, in a way that will surprise and delight you.
This is not just a dining experience, but a whole new way of socializing in a comfortable setting. Art and Design Café is setting a new trend in the dining industry. My thanks to our hosts Ginger and Vincent for an incredible evening and experience I will never forget.
